For over 25 years, Elora has been home, and for most of that time, so has travel planning. My own trips started the way a lot of Ontario families' do: Caribbean, all-inclusive, kids in tow. I got to know that region inside and out, because it's where my family made our memories (we loved it so much, we bought a home in Antigua).

But as my kids grew, so did my appetite for something different. These days you're more likely to find me on a small ship than a mega-liner, or in a private villa than behind an all-inclusive wristband, out exploring a destination instead of being herded through it. I want to know my server's name by day two, and food I actually remember.

That's the travel I plan for you here: small ship cruising, curated and custom small group tours, and villa or boutique stays around the world. I've run intimate groups of a dozen and river cruise groups of over 160, this September I'm personally escorting 38 travellers on a private yacht through Croatia. Whatever the scale, it's planned by someone who's actually done it, not just sold it.

wHY BOOK WITH ME?

I've been to a lot of what I sell, slept on the ship, stayed in the villa, know exactly which room has the view worth paying for. But I haven't been everywhere, and I'm not going to pretend I have. What I do have is close relationships with the suppliers and operators who have, the ones who've done it so many times, so well, that I trust their eye as much as my own. Eleven years in this industry is enough time to know which partners actually deliver on "intimate" and "luxury," and which ones are just marketing it.

I'm TICO-registered, so this isn't a handshake deal, you're properly booked and protected, not handed a PDF and a "good luck out there."

And I'm not a call centre. I've lived in Elora for over 25 years, which means you can actually find me, not just email me into a void. Groups are kind of my thing too; I've run trips for a dozen people and river cruises for over 160, and either way, nobody ends up chasing payments or wondering where the bus is. That's my job, not yours.

Not at all. Many of our retreats welcome all levels, from complete beginners to experienced participants. Individual retreat descriptions will outline any recommended experience levels.

Yes. Many of our guests travel solo. Our retreats are designed to create connection and community, making it easy to meet like-minded people while enjoying your own personal experience.
Unless specifically stated, flights are typically not included. This allows guests flexibility to travel from their preferred airport, use travel points, or extend their stay before or after the retreat.
Many of our retreats offer flexible payment schedules. Deposit requirements and payment deadlines are outlined on each retreat page.
We strongly recommend travel insurance to protect your investment and provide coverage for unexpected cancellations, interruptions, medical emergencies, and travel delays.
While movement may bring us together, it's only one part of the experience.

Unless otherwise stated, all retreat pricing is listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD). We believe in transparent pricing, so any applicable taxes, fees, or payment schedules will be clearly outlined before booking.
Yes. Roam to Rise operates in partnership with a TICO-registered travel agency, ensuring that all travel arrangements are handled in accordance with Ontario's travel industry regulations. This provides an added layer of professionalism, accountability, and consumer protection for both retreat hosts and guests.
The answer depends on the specific retreat. Every retreat is unique, and the age range, activity level, and experience requirements are determined by the retreat host and the nature of the program.
Some retreats are designed for beginners, while others may cater to more experienced participants. Likewise, some retreats may be geared toward adults, families, or specific age groups.
